I can not wait to continue on with this series, and if you love a taste of the dark this series will have you hooked also. Readers who enjoy a possessive and lethal hero with a protective streak that leads to blood shed then this read is perfect for you. This book is for those who love darker reads with a scarred heroine who is strong in will and brute force, but whose situation calls her to seek help from are equally strong and dark hero. That being said Caelian is still apt on protecting her from the only people who can destroy her. I love the balance this author creates with the heroine being strong and brutal that the hero sees as his equal. It is fast paced and well written and is easily one of my favorite dark romances of the year. Be aware it hangs on a cliff hanger that will have you diving straight into the next one. This book held me captivated by the uniquely dark story line. Their darkness calls to each others souls. Caelian is dark, brooding, cold, and calculating with a possessive 'touch her and you die' attitude. When you grow up in hell, you become forged with fire and infused raised by the monsters living there. She knows darkness lingers in her, but how can it not with fate working against her from a young age. I was hooked from the beginning, lured in by dark pasts, secrets, and a strong heroine. It is everything I want in a dark romance, and I enjoyed every second of it. This romance is dark, deranged, and our love interests are slightly unhinged. Don't let the beautiful cover fool you into thinking this romance is sweet.
