In college, I studied journalism and was a reporter after I graduated. I started writing when I was in kindergarden Some of my favorites include Stardew Valley, The Sims, Kingdom Hearts, Animal Crossing & Final Fantasy 7. I am deathly afraid of rats and also whales. We just call him Pancho or Pan for short.

I have a four pound yorkshire terrier named Pancho Villa. I lived in The Bronx until I was 14 then moved to Westchester, NY where I saw too many giant racoons for my liking. My family is from The Dominican Republic, an island in The Caribbean. I was born in The Bronx in 1984, just one year after my family came to the United States. It’s a lovely tale and I highly recommend it, especially to middle grade readers who are looking to get spooked! Lucely and Syd are scared, but determined, and rely on each other and the trusted people in their lives to help them out. It’s also a fun exploration of female friendship and the childhood power of not looking before you leap. This is an exciting adventure story that shows the power of chosen family in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. MY RATING: I GIVE GHOST SQUAD FIVE STARS OUT OF FIVE FOR THE CLOSE FEMALE FRIENDSHIP WHERE YOUNG GIRLS DEFY THE ODDS IN THEIR HOPE TO SAVE THE DAY. Together, Lucely, Syd, and her grandmother’s cat, Chunk, embark on an adventure that starts with them wanting to help save Lucely’s house from foreclosure, but ends up with them determined to save their entire town from dark spirits. Syd is the grandaughter of a local witch, Babette, who offers herbs and advice to locals. Lucely has the ability to see the ghosts of her ancestors, who involve themselves in her life when they’re not occupying the tree in her backyard as fireflies. Ghost Squad is a middle grade adventuresome romp featuring Lucely Luna and her best friend Syd.
